Starting as a small restaurant on Jefferson Highway, Smilie’s welcomed its first customer on July 6th, 1976. With family and friends helping, Smilie’s quickly became the most popular place for lunch in the Elmwood Business Park. Now Augie Lopez offers his customers fine dining, banquet facilities for wedding receptions, private parties and the original cafeteria with its Po-Boy and hot lunches.
Smilie’s is open 7 days a week, has Sunday lunch with unlimited champagne and live music, and serves one of the best charbroiled oysters in town.
